Investius PB (“Investius”) is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act, which imposes certain requirements on us with respect to handling personal information. We have implemented procedures to ensure that personal information is handled in accordance with the Act. This policy is issued in compliance with the Act.

WHO DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM

In the course of providing our products and services, Investius may collect personal information from clients or potential clients. In the course of providing products and services, we may collect:

  • Personal Information including names, addresses, and other contact details; dates of birth; and financial information.
  • Sensitive Information including government identifiers (such as your TFN), your nationality, country of birth, professional memberships, family court orders, and criminal records.

 

HOW DO WE COLLECT AND HOLD YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

How we collect personal information will largely be dependent upon whose information we are collecting. If it is reasonable and practical to do so, we collect personal information directly from you. Where possible, we have attempted to standardize the collection of personal information by using specifically designed forms (e.g. our Application Forms).

We may also collect personal information from other people (e.g., a third-party administrator) or independent sources. However, we will only do so where it is not reasonable and practical to collect the information from you directly.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We only use personal information that is reasonably necessary for one or more of our functions or activities or for a related secondary purpose that would be reasonably expected by you, or to which you have consented. Our uses of personal information include but are not limited to:

  • Providing you with one or more of our financial services or products;
  • To assess your application for a financial product or service; and/or
  • To communicate with you about the products and services that we offer.

Investius may share your personal information for permitted related purposes or with outsourced service providers. Some of these providers include:
  • Your financial adviser;
  • Legal and accounting firms, auditors, consultants and other advisers for the purpose of administering your investment and the Fund; and
  • Government authorities when required by law, including, without limitation, to the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), in compliance with the Trustee’s obligations under anti-money laundering law.
 
 

STORAGE AND SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We store personal information in various formats, including databases, hard copy files, and personal devices such as laptop computers. The security of your personal information is of utmost importance to us, and we take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold about you from misuse, loss, unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. These steps include:

  • Limiting access to information on our databases to those who need to know it.
  • Implementing ICT security systems, policies, and procedures designed to protect personal information stored on our computer networks.
  • Conducting due diligence on third-party service providers, such as customer identification providers and cloud service providers, who may have access to personal information, to ensure they comply with the Australian Privacy Principles or a similar privacy regime as far as possible.
  • Destroying personal information that we no longer need or are required to retain by any laws in a secure manner, deleting it, or de-identifying it as appropriate.

 

PRIVACY COMPLAINTS

If you have a complaint regarding our breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, you may submit a written complaint by email or letter to any of our contact details provided below. You may also choose to make a verbal complaint. We will respond to your complaint within a reasonable time frame (typically no longer than 30 days) and may request additional information from you to provide a comprehensive response.
